Do ‘Human Rights’ apply to those who aren’t human? Such a simple question, has plagued humanity for generations. Some say yes, more say no. And so far, those few who stand up for the mutants have managed to keep their brothers and sisters from declaring all out war on their mutated cousins.
Sadly, things have changed.
New, harsher men have risen to power, taking control of the Government, all with one goal in mind. The extermination, or enslavement, of Mutants. And it’s already begun. Out of the public eye, these men have declared war on Mutant kind, turning society against them. Already mutants are being blamed for a civil war that is ripping South America apart, for the complete sinking of several Island nations and the genocide of the people… Likewise, humans are being blamed for many mutant disappearances, including that of Professor Xavier, Magneto, and several other well known mutants.
Laws are being written, bills are being passed. And the Mutant registration act is once again a heated discussion, and closer than ever to being passed. There are talks of segregated education, communities, confinement of out of control mutants…. But it doesn’t matter how pretty the Governments words are. It still means one thing, they are pushing for Mutant Concentration camps. Discrimination is at its absolute worst, even the slightest difference can turn all of humanity against you. Humans are more willing than ever to attack and kill mutants. And said humans are deemed ‘heroes’ because, guess what? It’s legal to kill mutants now if you can prove it was self defense. And when mutants are involved? Their presence alone is more than enough to convince a jury. Basically, life is steadily getting worse and worse for mutants.
In all this chaos though, there is some good. Mutants are uniting under new, and old, leadership. The school is expanding, with many new teachers and students from all around the world. It gets better. Exile Castle, the newest ‘X-school’ has started its first semester. All in all? The worst life gets for mutants, the more united they become…
